But this rebirth is still fragile, a young tree in an old forest, and psychiatry is still lagging behind, leaving an often ignored condition in the shadows: ADHD in adults. Few doctors know that this condition is not just a childhood problem, but a struggle that continues into adulthood. There is a national protocol, but it is like a dusty book on a forgotten shelf, unheard of and unapplied by many who should be following it. We witnessed the despair of adults facing the symptoms specific to this condition, wandering through a maze of misunderstanding and ignorance, repeatedly bumping into closed doors, cold stares and empty words. They seek help, but help seems to be a ghost, always a hand away, always elusive. We are trying to change this bleak picture. We are trying to extend a helping hand, not just a hand, but a bridge between suffering and hope.
