IT’S SOCIAL WORK & WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH - Thank God I’m Both

Mar 01, 2023

I’ve decided to share more in this space and I figured this was a great opportunity to tell more about me.

Let’s start with my career as a social worker.

I always tell people that I did not choose this career but God picked this career path for me. I never had the intention to go to college, so for me to have two degrees and a professional license still blows my mind.

When I decided that I did want to go to college I wanted to be in the Music Business and that’s where my studies began. I never considered that changing because I love music so much. However, being a social worker perfectly aligns with me. I’ve always been a problem solver, flexible, an advocate, empathic, a listener, a communicator, and more.

So far as I approach 11 years in this career —I’ve held titles and roles in parent education, criminal justice, and mental health. I’m a grant recipient (I received my first grant as soon as I graduated from college), I’ve designed and created programs, I have and currently act in leadership roles in my places of employment & professional organizations, and now I currently provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families!

Now let’s discuss me being the boss ass divine woman that I am. I love being a woman - we are unique, powerful, creators, nurturers, and nothing moves without us. I’ve spent the last several years growing and studying more about what it means to be a divine feminine and evolving in my feminine energy. This journey has truly helped me understand the value of a Proverbs Queen better than church has. I feel more confident in operating in my truth and loving every aspects of me as a woman!

That’s all I have for now. I’m glad I got to share more about me in the space. If you are feeling generous buy this powerful woman whose essence is love and happens to be a social worker a coffee ☕️
