Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, the home of her maternal grandparents. She was the eldest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, later known as King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
Elizabeth's early years were spent at her childhood home - 145 Piccadilly. She also spent time at White Lodge in Richmond Park.
