Süßholzraspler
Etymology:
Süß + Holz + Raspler
Literally: "Sweet Wood Grater"
Definition:
Süßholz means sugarcane and a raspler is the kitchen tool that grates edibles, like cheese or nutmeg.
Putting both words together, it becomes the grating tool for sugarcane.
However, in modern times, if you call someone a Süßholzraspler, it means that this person is an insincere or over-the-top flatterer.
A sycophant, who likes to engratiate himself with others to get favors, to stay in good graces, or to fullfil their own, hidden, agenda.
