As a big fan and long time user of Duolingo App I could't help myself from trying my 3D modeling skills with the beloved applications mascot. This green owl is called Duo. Similar to Siri, it lives in our mobile devices keeping track on our progress in language lessons. Yea, Duo and Siri are neighbours π€£. If You follow Your goals Duo is kind and happy. However, if You're forgetting about lessons Duo is not nice anymore. So Your attitude towards learning defines Duo's moods and that's where my inspiration to this collection cames from.
Inside the Duolingo app, Duo is 2D animation. I haven't find any accurate 3D version of it in the net. Looking for some references I came accross quite interesting article about creating new look of Duo and it's evolution from the company beginning in 2011. Link to the mentioned article below:

For now I've created nine 3D models. I'm quite proud of the results π€. Just take a look at them:
Duo appears in more shades so the designing process is not finished yet. However for now I took a break from 3D modeling and focused on preparing those nine for 3D printing. I want to share .stl files with all You guys - so You will be able to print this collection on Your own. That's why I want to be sure every element prints without issues and assembly can be done without a glue - so You have "LEGO" experience π€ .
I've just finished testing the firts one - "Duo basic". Here is the result:
