About Valeria Rusnak
Mental Health Podcaster/Speaker
My passion for storytelling and helping others through difficult times is what truly drives me. I launched The Rejected Pre-Med Podcast to create a space where people, especially those who have faced rejection or setbacks, could feel seen, understood, and supported. What started as a personal exploration of my own journey—specifically my struggles with getting into medical school—has transformed into a platform that reaches anyone navigating life’s twists and turns. I believe that sharing our stories helps to break the isolation we feel during these moments and can turn rejection into growth.
The inspiration for this podcast comes from my foundational training in Narrative-Based Medicine, where I learned how powerful it can be to process life events through storytelling. This practice encouraged me to not only reflect on my own experiences but also invite others to share theirs. Together, we can create a community of resilience, reminding each other that setbacks are part of the journey, not the end.
Contributions from supporters—whether financial or emotional—are like a metaphorical coffee that fuels my work. Every cup helps keep the podcast going, allowing me to produce more meaningful content and interview incredible guests who share their own journeys. But beyond that, these contributions create a connection. They are an acknowledgment that we’re in this together, sharing in the ups and downs of life. By supporting this podcast, you're not just helping me continue my work; you're investing in a community that encourages vulnerability, growth, and connection.
Every small gesture makes a big difference, and it’s a reminder that none of us are alone in our struggles. Together, we can turn rejection into an opportunity for transformation. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
