Postmormon Postmortem: Critical Analysis of Mormon Culture & Institutional Practices


Welcome! We're Jess and Hannah, co-hosts of Post Mormon Postmortem—a podcast that takes an unflinching, analytical look at Mormon institutional practices, high-control group dynamics, and the cultural patterns that enable harm.


What We Do


We examine Mormon true crime cases, institutional practices like worthiness interviews and mission culture, and the doctrinal frameworks that shape behavior. Our episodes go beyond personal storytelling to investigate how specific cultural beliefs and institutional structures create conditions for abuse, control, and harm.


Whether we're analyzing a true crime case to understand what cultural factors were at play, or breaking down patriarchal blessings to expose manipulation tactics, we bring a critical lens that blends personal experience with cultural analysis.
