About Me
Hi there! I’m Nancy Pinkerton, a mixed media artist passionate about photography based in Scotland. I create captivating fine art photography inspired by Scotland’s rich history, heritage, and culture. My work explores powerful stories from history using special-effects photography and dramatic still-life compositions. From the chequered tales of kings and queens to the darker corners of witch trials, my goal is to bring the stories of Scotland’s past to life in a fresh, evocative way.
You may know me from my award-winning collection, Scotland’s Chequered Throne®, which earned an Associate Distinction and was exhibited in Edinburgh’s West End. This project, reimagined as a book, invites readers to delve into the stories of Scotland’s monarchs, alongside a map and timeline for context. My latest project, Witches, the Devil, and a King, delves into King James VI’s obsession with witchcraft, the North Berwick witch trials, and the superstitions of the time.
