About Karlis Didrihsons
Hey yo! Nice of you to come here. :)
Let me tell you my story briefly and hopefully you'll buy me a coffee to support the continuation of that story.
WHO AM I?
I am a 26 year old multidisciplinary creative. For multiple years I've been working as a freelance photographer/videographer in Riga, Latvia. As I got older, I got better and life was going good! But then Covid hit and as I lost most of my clients, I realised that I'm not as smart and needed as I thought I was. That made me pursue my dream of moving to Berlin, where the creative market is bigger and city moves faster. I started studying advertising and brand design, which opened my eyes to my new love typography and graphic design.
MY SKILLS/ INTERESTS.
So to sum up my interests and skills... I am a professional photographer, still down for collaborations and commissions. I also have videography experience and portfolio. For nearly two years I've been getting better and better as a DJ, so occasionally a set recording or two are popping up in my soundcloud. Additionally I do funky letter designs, sometimes paint a few walls and create a poster design every now and then. Would love to sell some prints sometime this year.
WHERE I'M GOING.
Transitioning from full time freelance creative in Latvia to a student in Berlin, where I have little to no connections hasn't been exactly easy. But it's cool, I was prepared for this. Moreover - it has made me understand the direction in which I want to go in my life. I'm heading towards becoming an Art Director and hopefully someday - a Creative Director.
MOVING TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
2023 was my last year being broke, fuck that, I'm on my way to the next level. And that requires more action. So what have I done so far in 2024 - I'm starting a part time barista job in a really cool coffee place - Bonanza. That way I can make some connections and get some money while I'm at it. I've started the big portfolio creation journey, to apply to literally all creative agencies in Berlin, Latvia and more. That should be ready and available on Behance sometime around mid February. Also, I'm creating merch design for a really sweet spot in Berlin, I've re-started posting regularly on IG, I'm creating a couple of logo designs for friends and I got a couple of other cool things coming up.
BUY ME A COFFEE?
I've realised that I've never really used my humble, yet significant amount of IG followers. I was talking to a friend of mine about the ridiculous things I'm trying out to stop being broke and he told me to register here! It's the next day and here I am, trying out new things, being a yes-man, asking for a coffee.
Feel free to help me understand what would make you buy me a coffee and support financially and join me on my way to the next level.
P.S. As I'm gonna be working as a barista, I'd probably spend the money on creative assets, self advertisement and general quality improvement of my life.
