Welcome to Crude Magazine!
My name is Cody Liska and I'll be your host.
My mission is to preserve and define Alaska’s cultures and current issues through the Crude podcasts, "Crude Conversations," "Special Conversations" and "lost anchorage."
Crude Conversations is an Alaska podcast that uses long-form conversations as a springboard to discovering larger truths about what it means to be Alaskan. Each week will feature a guest who represents a different aspect of The Last Frontier. Follow along as I take a contemporary look at what it means to be an Alaskan.
Special Conversations uses long-form interviews to better understand current issues affecting Alaskans.
lost anchorage investigates the mechanisms of crime and violence in Anchorage, Alaska. Through research and interviews with professionals, law enforcement and those affected by crime, I hope to build a better understanding of whether or not Anchorage is, in fact, becoming more dangerous.
In order to continue producing meaningful content that matters to Alaska, I need your help!
Your money goes toward the costs associated with running Crude. What are those costs? I need to be able to purchase equipment and pay for audio software that will enable me to produce quality content that tells the authentic Alaska story.
Crude started in 2013 as a way to reclaim Alaska as it is represented in the media, to talk about our surroundings in an authentic way. Since then, Crude's endeavors have been funded and supported by communities inside and outside of Alaska. The reason Crude exists at all is because of its contributors and its supporters—I'm proud of that!
By becoming a patron, you will be giving Crude the ability to grow its coverage of Alaska.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to working with you!
