HELP CONNECTICUT’S FUTURE LEADERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PUERTO RICO

Arts Four Healing is preparing for a meaningful service and cultural experience in Puerto Rico, where our young leaders will have the opportunity not only to learn and experience the culture, but also to serve, connect, and make a lasting difference in local communities.

Our vision is to partner with organizations and community leaders in Puerto Rico to identify where help is needed most. Rather than arriving with a predetermined plan, we want to listen to the community and work alongside local organizations to support their priorities.

That could mean helping improve or rebuild schools and community spaces, supporting projects that increase access to clean water and other essential resources, providing art and school supplies, participating in community beautification projects, or creating art and music programs for children and families.

Whatever the community needs, Arts Four Healing is ready to serve.

Arts Four Healing is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people overcome grief, loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other life challenges through healing-centered programs incorporating art, music, culture, education, mentorship, leadership, and community connection.

The young women participating in this mission are more than students. They are leaders, athletes, mentors, honor students, volunteers, and role models. Many have faced difficult circumstances in their own lives, yet they continue to persevere, grow, serve others, and make positive contributions to their communities.

Now, we want to give them the opportunity to take that spirit of service beyond Connecticut.

FROM CONNECTICUT TO PUERTO RICO: HEALING THROUGH SERVICE

Our mission in Puerto Rico will combine community service, cultural learning, leadership development, art, music, and human connection.

We hope to collaborate with nonprofit organizations, schools, community groups, artists, musicians, educators, and local leaders who understand the needs of their communities. Our students will learn an important lesson: making a difference begins with listening.

This experience will show our young leaders that art and music are about much more than entertainment.

Art can heal.

Music can connect.

Education can empower.

Service can strengthen communities.

A paintbrush can help transform a school or community center. A musical experience can bring children together. A backpack filled with school and art supplies can give a student tools to create and learn. Working together on a community project can create relationships that continue long after the trip is over.

We want our students to see firsthand what can happen when people use their talents, creativity, compassion, and leadership to serve others.
