Half term is when everyone says they’re going to “catch up”.
But catching up only works if you’re revising in a way that actually gets marks.
Here’s how I’d recommend using my A-level biology notes (which are currently on sale - discount code below!):
🧠 1. Blurting method
Read a section → close it → write down everything you can remember → check against the notes → fill the gaps. Repeat until you can reproduce the key words confidently.
🗂 2. Turn them into flashcards
Especially for processes and definitions. Keep the questions exam-style, not vague prompts.
✏ 3. Practice answering long answer "describe" or "explain" questions using them
Then check:
Did you hit all the marking points?
Could you answer the same question a week later without using the notes?
The goal isn’t to rewrite them. The goal is to retrieve from them.
