FragmentQR

FragmentQR

Dec 18, 2020

FragmentQR generates QR codes and links that highlight relevant text on a webpage when opened. With FragmentQR, when you select text on a page you can convert it to a text fragment, which will create a URL with the link of your current tab and remember the position and content of your selection. Then, a QR code will be generated from this URL.

Description

FragmentQR is a web extension I made that can generate QR codes from "text fragments" taken from any text you select on a page.

Applications of FragmentQR:

  1. Share certain parts of an article on social media or text by making the relevant part have a yellow highlight when opened.

  2. More relevant citation links that highlight the quoted text on the webpage for your bibliography

  3. Engaging PowerPoint presentations with QR codes that the audience can scan with their smartphones to see a relevant piece of text on a website.

  4. Etc.
