I know this time of year is weird for a lot of people. So however you are feeling, I hope that the second half of the year will be better than the first for you. And whatever happens, take a moment to celebrate the beauty and wonder in the world around you!
That's part of why I spent a good chunk of yesterday at the amazing local Greensboro Science Center. It turned out to be an amazing day, with interactions with their various animals unlike any I had before in my many times going there. We got to pet rays and little sharks, watched a fishing cat thinking really intently about catching a bug and then getting distracted like so many cats I know, saw a black footed cat meow/growl, and got closer than ever to one of the tigers!
As a nature inspired artist, I really treasure moments like that. And I am trying to make sure I spend more time appreciating our parks, zoos, and museums for all that they do to teach and preserve.
