CloudPanel is one of the cleanest and most efficient hosting control panels available today. It’s fast, lightweight, and built for serious infrastructure work.
But after managing multiple production environments with CloudPanel, I realized something:
Backup management needed to be more flexible, more visible, and more controllable.
So I built one.
This is the story behind CloudPanel Backup Manager, an open-source backup management panel designed specifically for CloudPanel environments.
The Problem
When you operate multiple websites across servers, backup strategy stops being optional.
You need:
Visibility across sites
Control over automatic backups
Manual trigger capability
Database + file backup consistency
Simple restore flow
Secure authentication
Operational reliability
CloudPanel gives you strong fundamentals — but I wanted something:
More centralized
More transparent
More automation-friendly
Easier to manage across projects
Especially when handling real production workloads.
The Solution
I built CloudPanel Backup Manager, a lightweight PHP-based admin interface that integrates directly with CloudPanel servers.
It allows:
Multi-site management
Manual backup execution
Scheduled backups via cron
Backup listing and deletion
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Secure configuration via external config file
The goal was simple:
Create a professional-grade backup layer that respects CloudPanel’s philosophy — clean, fast, infrastructure-focused.
Real-World Driven Development
This project was not built as a “demo”.
It was created from real operational needs while managing:
SaaS platforms
Client projects
Multi-domain environments
Self-hosted infrastructure
The screenshots in the repository show it running in actual production-like environments.
Why Open Source?
Because infrastructure tooling benefits from transparency.
Backup systems should not be black boxes.
By releasing this under GNU AGPL v3, I ensure:
