I always doubted AI taking a developer's job because whenever I used AI to write articles I felt like it was just the best part of someone else's article, thus never believing it could write a piece of working code.
So I hesitated to try newer versions of AI.
But one day I saw a video about the success story of Chrome Web Extension and developers earning millions.
The idea felt so compelling that I wanted to try making one.
When I researched, I found out that Chrome Web Extensions are built using JavaScript but I was not so good at it. And learning JavaScript just to try my luck on making a successful Chrome Extension was a huge bet.
So I wanted to create a MVP (Minimum Viable Product) first in less time. And decided to give a try to AI for doing.
For this I chose Gemini (AI by google) as it was free and already used on Google Docs.
In the first few tryouts I failed but in the end it created me a working extension which I published on the official Chrome Web Extension.
So, with this experiment, I found out that with clear instructions (prompts) AI can give meaningful results which can help us to test the ideas in initial state and be our assistant who will help us anytime.
