Out of all the sadness that happened this past week in grieving my little Strudelbug's passing, and having just received her ashes yesterday morning, sending another heavy wave of emotions across my heart, a little bit of light shone through about 20 minutes after that, giving me a confidence boost that I so needed. (Seriously, when big stuff happens for me, it's usually all at once good and bad 🤪)
A well-known art director in the illustration industry, Lilla Rogers, whom I've admired for a long time, chose me to volunteer my "arty book pitch" in her live webinar session today. I told her about my plans for The Ultimate Bunny Care Guidebook. She was thrilled with it and has total confidence that I'm all set up to pitch this concept to publishers. This book has to be made, as you all know what value a proper education can have on future and current bunny owners, done in an attractive way through compelling visuals so people will enjoy learning and see it as more of a bunny art book, though I will need some funding in order to do it successfully. I am taking a course, taught by Lila herself, that will help give me the step-by-step on how to and whom to submit this book to (she's got allll the right contacts!). With a seasoned art agent like Lila behind the wheel, giving this advice and guiding me through the way, along with her exposure to some sweeett contacts being one of her students...I can only imagine how this book will take off.
