1 Patrick Wolf - The Night Safari
The title track of Patrick’s comeback EP is absolutely beautiful and vintage PW, sad yet hopeful, classical meets electro pop.
2 Das Koolies - Best Mindfuck Yet
The Super Furry Animals off shoot latest release is an absolute banger and I’m really looking forward to their first album later in the year.
3 Underworld - and the colour red
The romford boys are back with a vintage slice of underworld electronica.
4 Four Tet - Three Drums
The electronic theme continues as Four Tet returns on his own after working with Skrillex, Kieran is probably my favourite purveyor of chilled electronic beats of all time and Three Drums does not disappoint.
5 Beach House - Black Magic
I’ll grant you I often find it hard to tell Beach House’s dream pop songs apart from one another but who cares when they’re this delicious.
6 The Bug Club - Out In The Streets
The first new artist to me on this playlist, Out In The Streets is delightfully lo-fi fuzzy indie pop and I’ll definitely be checking out more of the welsh band’s back catalogue.
7 Temples - Afterlife
It’s been a while since Temples debut in 2014 and I have to admit I didn’t really keep up with them, but this single from their fourth lp, Exotico, is 4 minutes of uplifting modern psychedelic indie rock.
8 Mudhoney - Little Dogs
Grunge veterans Mudhoney with a very silly song about, well, little dogs. And we love little dogs in this house.
9 Jay-Z ft Gil Scott-Heron - NEW YORK (CONCEPT DE PARIS)
Funky, bluesy, jazzy. I dig it.
10 cumgirl8 - cicciolina
As a 40-something man that’s a very awkward band name to say, but this four piece NY post-punk outfit have been around a few years and I’m looking forward to delving more into their music.
