Celebrating 7 Years of Building a Consultancy Business

Jan 07, 2025

This week marks a significant milestone—7 years since I ventured into establishing my consultancy business as a white-collar taxpayer after dedicating over 20 years as a Human Resources Practitioner in Papua New Guinea. The skills I’ve acquired, the professional networks I’ve built, and the tools I’ve developed during my formal employment have all been instrumental in the success of my consultancy SME.
My expertise lies in designing and modeling organizational structures, capacity-building, creating robust training systems, including competency and talent management, and institutionalizing frameworks for corporate governance and business processes. I also specialize in implementing integrated performance management systems, aligning organizations with their mandates, governance needs, and corporate image aspirations.
To put it simply:
"I design model workplaces, structure job roles, establish effective business processes, institutionalize corporate governance, identify and develop talent, and create integrated performance systems for sustainable success."
One of the proudest highlights of my career is contributing to the transformation of PNG Ports Corporation. From its corporatization in 2010 to its current status as one of the best-performing state-owned entities, I’m honored to have played a role in developing its HR Management Policies, Staff Development and Talent Management frameworks, and Integrated Performance Management Systems. Today, PNG Ports stands as a testament to the impact of foundational, strategic human resources initiatives.
As an SME owner and one-man operation in Papua New Guinea, I collaborate with professional colleagues for specialized expertise when required. Thanks to advances in digital technology, systems, and applications—especially in artificial intelligence—what used to take an entire week can now be completed in just a day with focus and commitment. With tools costing under $30 per month, I independently design documents, create business models, and deliver up-to-date advice to my clients—even reviewing Board Resolutions and providing implementation recommendations.
Reflecting on this journey, I admit I could have started 7 years ago. However, like many, I wrestled with the fear of taking that first step. It wasn’t until 2 years ago that I Officially secured 2 Clients, made the leap, and I now realize I should have done it sooner.
As we step into 2025—a year marking 50 years for many milestones—I’ve set a clear resolution: to engage, commit, and grow alongside my current and potential new clients. By the end of this year, I aim to formally hire full-time employees and lay the foundation for scaling this business into the future.
Here’s to continuous growth, innovation, and making an impact.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. Let’s build the future together! 💼🚀
