At 1:06 a.m. I typed a complaint into Claude Code: the buttons and the bottom navigation bar weren't getting their styles. An hour earlier I'd given it a design file for a beauty-shop app called Velour and a one-line instruction. Since then it had written 47 files, run 69 shell commands, split the work across three helper agents, and checked everything in Chrome, where it all looked right. On a phone, the buttons and the tab bar had lost their styling.
Eight minutes later it was fixed — and the reason it broke turned out to be the most useful thing I learned from the whole build.
The finished app is a complete little store: 26 screens, a three-step checkout, order tracking and an admin console, running on iPhone from a single session in about 70 minutes. When I audited it colour by colour, it had kept 53 of the design's 54 colours. The one it dropped is a hover state — and phones don't hover.
The write-up has the real prompts, the log, what broke on iOS, and how it compares with Figma-to-code. And the entire build is on video. 👇

If it saves you a 1 a.m. debugging session, a coffee keeps these builds coming. ☕❤️
