BASED UPON AN UPCOMING NOVEL OF MINE (QUILL C. ELSKA) CALLED, "THE DRAGON MAGICIAN 🎩
Spit spot along the cobblestone,
A woman enters a quiet shop,
Far from home she appears to be,
From the streets of London, she's not.
Bizarre trinkets line the shelves,
Covered in dust and untidy,
She never knew what she'd see,
She never knew what was hiding.
Upon a shelf sits a deck of cards,
The cleanest object in the store,
She picks them up and shuffles,
Unknowingly asking for more.
Snap, flip, shuffle she goes,
Distracted from the figure lurking,
She suddenly stops and clutches the cards,
Everything around her becomes murky.
A gentleman dressed snappy approaches,
Extremely brooding, British, and showy,
His mysterious eyes so intense,
Black and yellow, and mildly glowing.
He takes the cards and shuffles with fire,
Huffing smoke unexplainably so,
She can't bear to look away from him,
She can't manage to just go.
Hypnotized and aroused by his tricks,
She follows him to a darker place,
Where humans and dragons exist as one,
Where magic dwells and they love to play.
