The Tree Hugger Wanderer: 4

The Tree Hugger Wanderer: 4

Between the branches and crackling bark,

Life will soon at last be dark.

With the sun now setting,

It's the day we'll soon be forgetting.

I stare and stare for endless time,

Lost in the thought that I'm alive.

You hold out your hand,

And I think I understand.

I know I have to take it,

But would if we don’t make it?

Through the forest we now run,

In the distance, the click of a gun.

He says it’s all okay,

I can’t deny that I’m afraid.

Our light disappears,

For it’s night I now fear.
