What I'm up to
There are some bugs that appeared after several recent YouTube updates. Most are related to how search results are rendered. I am fixing those. An improvement in extension's resource usage is also in the works.
I have been suggested some features on gitlab and personal messages, and I'm evaluating the feasibility of those. I'm also battle testing an experimental keyword matching feature, which should remove or highlight any unrelated videos but it's unstable at the moment and I working on polishing it right now.
The feature for adjusting the number of videos per row on homepage is also being improved.
The State of the Extension
We reached almost 45,000 daily users and finally got the Mozilla Recommended badge! Thank you to you all for supporting the extension and spreading the word.
Between you and me, despite the high user count, financial support from general users has been low this year. That is why I appreciate you guys so much. You are the ones actually fueling this project.
Idea
I’m toying with this idea of a mobile version. Since the desktop version takes so much work, I can't support mobile for free, but I can't bring myself to charge monthly for it. I am as sick of subscriptions in our digital lives as everyone else. Would any of you be interested in a mobile version for a one-time purchase fee? If there are even 10 people interested, it might be worth the late nights and I'll consider it. Again, this is not something I am sure about and just putting it out there. Let me know what you think if you read this post.
