"The Affinity Between Us"
by Melissa Sweeney

I don’t know at what point my need to finish kicked in, but I was up past midnight to finish it.

And, the closer it got to the end, the more typos there were. Considering what was going on, I’m going to guess the excitement caused them to stop paying attention.

Normally, typos throw me off, but I didn’t care because I just wanted to finish. And I HATE typos; especially when I do it.

After I was done with this, I immediately moved to the next one. I didn’t stop reading until staying up started making me sick.

If you’re looking for tropes, I don’t know any.

Unless memory loss is a trope, which they pulled off well; being a clean slate allowed them to discover more about themselves. How they got their memories back had me titling my head, though.

If you’re paying attention, it makes sense. Says a LOT about the character though…

Another thing I’m happy about! The character development! The only person who felt one-dimensional was the person under someone else’s thumb, making them “not having a mind” annoyingly realistic. It also didn’t help they were religious to the point it was their ENTIRE personality…

If you’re looking for a good LGTBQ+ story, this is for you!

Bad segue, I know…

Melissa Sweeney is a writer and artist who focuses on LGBTQ+ stories.
