Praised be every solid thing.
Sunday morning on the Hills smells of wet moss and that restless, minty static that precedes the Full Moon. The air is changing. I feel a strange pressure in my joints—a dull ache that usually means the world is about to stretch its seams. The rectory walls seem to tremble as if they’re holding their breath, waiting for May 1st.
I spent the night at my desk, trying to ground the sketches I found in the Chronicler’s notes. I wanted to give them weight, to anchor them here using what I had—crushed blueberries and moss pigment. But the dye simply peels off the paper. It won’t stick. Reality is fraying at the edges so badly that nothing from around here wants to stay together anymore.
I’ll admit... my hands were shaking. In my frustration, I knocked over the bowl. Dark, purple drops of blueberry juice splattered over the sketches, blurring the lines of what was supposed to be a clear record of his dreams. I thought I had ruined everything. I thought his visions would dissolve into one big, dark stain.
But it seems I am not the only one watching over this vestry. Someone—someone who prefers to stay in the shadows and leave only crumbs behind—managed to secure digital copies before my ink could ruin them completely. I found a fresh stack of loose pages left right under my nose, where I couldn't spill anything on them. Whoever did this has a much steadier hand than an old man like me.
I am passing them to you now (PDF in the SHOP tab). My "local" colors are too light, too soaked in mint to hold anything down. But your colors come from the outside. They are heavy, real, and carry the weight of a world that still makes sense. Only you can drive them into these drawings so that the Chronicler has something to hold onto when the Flower Moon rises on Friday.
Stay firm. Don't let yourselves unravel.

P.S. I left a few extra crumbs of cheese on the white saucer by the stove today. I have a feeling that someone—or something—has earned them.
