You're the first to know (besides our families 😜)
This photo was taken yesterday, and as you can see, we are not in tropical southern Mexico, or some tropical beach in Central America. We are back up in the state of Hidalgo, in central Mexico.
We have made the tough decision to head North, back to the USA... for now. Does this mean we are done with the Panamerican Highway, van life, or sharing YouTube videos? Not at all! We have so many new and exciting adventures still to come! We still plan to upload new adventures weekly!
We just finished filming a video explaining our decision to head back north, which will explain it all in detail. That video will be live on December 14th!
For now, we will give you a short explanation without making this post a whole essay. 😂 The first big reason is Money. We have a good safety cushion at the moment, but we want to make more before we continue further. Secondly, we are not looking forward to the heat of Central America, especially without a/c. We would likely drive through fairly quickly because it would just end up not being fun for us. Plus, there are a lot of logistics to driving through Central America we were not looking forward to. Our tentative plan is to ship from Houston, Texas, or somewhere on the East Coast, maybe Nova Scotia or New York, down to South America once we've built up more savings.
We have a video going live today sharing our first impressions of van life in the Yucatan. Next week, we take you along for an adventure in Bacalar, and then, we take you back to the mountains of central Mexico and go more into the details on money, logistics, why we don't have a/c, and our upcoming plans.
After that, you can expect videos from San Luis Potosí, Nuevo Leon, and videos that take us across the USA from Texas to Washington State and all over the West Coast!
Though our Panamerican adventure may be on a short pause for now, the adventures and videos are here to stay and we can't wait to share this next chapter with you that will eventually lead us to South America!
