Hey Kids, Moms, Dads, or Grandparents:
Have you ever walked and found a mitten, hat, scarf, or other piece of someone else's belongings that had gotten lost?
On this particular day, while strolling along one of our favourite paths, we found a colourful item hanging from a tree: a Soo Soo.
A Soo Soo has been referred to as a teether, pacifier, rubber soother, teething toy, teething ring, or chew toy.
Do you have a unique name for your Soo Soo?
We are always looking for ideas to create a new adventure story, and finding a Soo Soo hanging off a tree got Kyra, Leland's, and my creative minds rushing full of thoughts.
Even though Kyra and Leland were well past the age of using a Soo Soo, Kyra's younger sister and Leland's cousin Kaitlyn were in their early days of using a Soo Soo. (See pictures below, LOL!)
The timing of finding the Soo Soo hanging off a tree and Kaitlyn loving the use of her Soo Soo led to our story, The Soo Soo Tree, in The Adventures of Kaboose, the Rocky Mountain Bear book series.
The next time you find a lost item with your child or grandchild, we hope it triggers a story that you can write and draw together to bring this lost item to life. You might even find yourself writing about an adventure in finding the owner of the lost item.
