For some reason, I prefer A5 sketchbooks over A4 or anything bigger. I think I finally figured out why.
Whenever I see other artists sketching in A4 sketchbooks, I always think, Maybe I should do that too. The bigger pages look nice, and for a while I convinced myself that maybe that’s what I should be drawing in.
But every time I try, the same thing happens.
The page feels too big. 😭
I like drawing small, but the moment I open an A4 sketchbook, I automatically start drawing bigger. Even when I tell myself to keep the sketches small, it just... doesn’t happen. Before I know it, the page is filled with one large drawing, and somehow the whole experience becomes less enjoyable.
I’ve even tried filling the page with multiple sketches instead, but for some reason it still doesn’t click.
A5 just feels right!
I also noticed that I enjoy using a ballpoint pen much more in an A5 sketchbook.....
