To obey or not to obey? Is the question of today.
As toddlers, we're taught or rather trained, and in some ways, rightfully so. It's a matter of survival. To listen, obey, and to do, as your told. How dare you go against the grain?
A stiff and firm "don't talk back, just do it" reminds Johnny, who's in charge.
School institutions, more than education, systematically grading and managing students. The focus is more about memorization of formula's, or a child's willingness to surrender to chain of commands, and obey orders.
This scientific management (compulsory schooling) can be traced back to the Prussian Model of Education : https://feltd.wordpress.com/2010/09/16/the-prussian-german-educational-system/
Then later in life, you start noticing much of the same rhetoric. Obedience to church, god, state or government is not only praised, it's expected. Regardless of the request. We've been primed to fall in line.
Taking pride in our "blind obedience."
I don't aim to make this long. I only hope to remind you of the horrific, inhumane acts of violence and terror that has plagued humanity on the counts of this seemingly, virtuous and innocent quality of obedience to authority.
THE ALBIGENSIAN CRUSADE - (1209–1229)
Pope Innocent III awarded a campaign against heretics (Cathars). Around 10,000 people slaughtered.

THE SOVIET GULAG - (1930s-1950s)
A massive system of forced labor camps under Joseph Stalin's rule, prisoned and killed millions.

MY LAI MASSACRE - (1968)
The murder of more than 400 Vietnamese civilians. "Meeting no resistance, the Americans killed old men, women, and even children and babies", one soldier later recalled.

ISRAEL'S MILITARY AGAINST HUMANITY IN GAZA - (2003-Present)
“The responsibility for these atrocity crimes lies with Israeli authorities at the highest echelons who have orchestrated a genocidal campaign for almost two years now with the specific intent to destroy the Palestinian group in Gaza”
Ordinary, everyday folks, used as instruments of war to cause havoc and destruction on entire populations for the few who sit in positions of power. All because belief in authority overrides their own conscience. To put it blunt, they're simply doing as their told.
But at what point does this blind allegiance to rule and authority pose a threat to not only our own individual humanness, but society at large?
Mandate over Morals? Law over Conscience?
Who dares to even think for self? How many choose to act on their own accord and inner compass? This isn't an easy task. Not when conforming brings such comfort and ease. However, I do know there are those of you who value dignity, truth, freedom, and human nature. And I also believe the better half of humanity, values much of the same.
“When the people actually want true freedom, they will achieve it without the need for any election or revolution.”

'Till next time my good peoples,
