✨ My Story Behind Fibre Magick ✨
My journey with Fibre Magick began long before I ever knew it had a name.
When I was just 6 years old, my gran and mum taught me to crochet. They patiently showed me how to hold a hook, guide the yarn, and create something beautiful from a single strand of thread. My first creation was a blanket for my new born cousin - I was 7 years old. Looking back, I realise they were passing down far more than a craft—they were passing down a tradition that has travelled through generations.
For many years, crochet was simply something I loved.
Then, in 2018, after leaving a 23-year abusive marriage, everything changed.
When my world felt like it had fallen apart, when I was homeless with my children and trying to rebuild, I instinctively reached for my crochet hook. Stitch by stitch, row by row, I found myself breathing more deeply, thinking more clearly, and feeling more grounded. The rhythmic movement of my hands became a place of safety and peace. It helped me reconnect with myself when I needed it most.
At first, I thought it was just crochet.
Through years of personal exploration, reflection, and trial and error, I began to understand there was something much deeper happening. I called it Fibre Magick.
Only later did I discover that cultures across the world have long viewed crochet, spinning, weaving, knitting, and other fibre and creative arts as meaningful practices. Throughout history, many people have woven their hopes, intentions, blessings, and prayers into the fibres they created. They believed each stitch could become an act of mindfulness, healing, protection, or love.
That discovery was incredibly powerful. I hadn’t invented something new—I had rediscovered an ancient tradition in my own way.
Today, Fibre Magick is about creating with intention.
As I crochet, I choose the emotions I want to nurture—whether that’s peace, courage, confidence, self-love, or hope. Sometimes I work with intentions of protection, wrapping those thoughts into every stitch as a deeply personal spiritual practice. Every project becomes more than something handmade; it becomes a reflection of energy, purpose, and care. And a tool to be used to benefit or protect those I care for.
Now, my passion is helping others discover this beautiful practice for themselves.
I’m here to teach people that crochet can be so much more than making blankets, scarves, or gifts. It can become a mindful ritual, a grounding practice, a creative meditation, and, for those who are spiritually inclined, a way of setting meaningful intentions through every stitch.
I first picked up a crochet hook when I was six.
I never imagined that one small hook would help me rebuild my life, reconnect with myself, and lead me to helping others discover the ancient wisdom woven into fibre.
