The 4-7-8 breath is a simple albeit powerful tool in assisting kids with calming their nervous system. It involves breathing in for 4 seconds, holding the breath for 7 seconds, and then exhaling for 8 seconds.

This breathing technique is extremely successful in decreasing anxiety and helping the body relax into sleep.
