I wanted to share a little about myself so you can understand the reason behind my page @echoesofthesoulgriefsupport
My name is Mel, I'm the founder of Echoes Of The Soul Grief Support, which is a page I started in February 2025, where I share my grief and life journey, one that started when I was 4 years old, my beautiful mum Jackie died after battling ovarian cancer and 6 years later my dad died just before I turned 10 years old. I had a traumatic, turbulent childhood and ended up entering the care system. Eventually I was fostered and life was good until my foster mum Jan became unwell and was diagnosed with lung cancer which later turned terminal. Her mum also developed the same cancer and they died 4 days apart, 15 years ago. Just two months later my half brother died suddenly.
As a child I was never given the time or support I so desperately needed and it wasn't until adulthood I began to process my grief.
It's been a journey to get here, a continual one.
I started Echoes Of The Soul Grief Support to be a safe, supportive and welcoming space for those that have experienced grief and loss. I started holding Connect & Create Through Grief art sessions for people to connect and create, free flowing with the space to express without words.
This donation was set up to help support me, support others. To use towards materials/supplies/venues etc
Anything donated is much appreciated, thank you so much!
