For those who don’t know me yet, let me share a little about myself. I’m a German-born resident of the beautiful state of Maine, US. My journey to Maine has been a winding road. I left Germany in 2016 to explore life in London, UK, for a couple of years. Then, a new career opportunity brought me to New York City, where I experienced the highs and lows of life in the metropolis.
But when the pandemic hit, my priorities shifted. Like many others, I reevaluated my lifestyle and decided it was time for a change. Maine, with its natural beauty and coastal charm, called to me. I’ve always dreamt about retiring in a place with plenty of nature and an ocean nearby, but I didn’t realize that this didn’t have to be a retirement dream.
Living here has rekindled my appreciation for history, culture, and community. While I cherish my roots, I am also looking to integrate into the life in Maine and in the United States as a whole.
