Good morning, afternoon, evening everyone! And welcome to another Bloggie in Virginnie! On today's Bloggie, we're going to discuss my most recent message to ChesaPEAKe, The PEAKe of Excellence and my fellow ChesaPEAKeians.
You all know that I live in Chesapeake and I love living here and I'm not going to go into a sonnet or anything, but you understand that I been reppin Chesapeake since the beginning. Because I represent Chesapeake so much, I want nothing but the best for my city.
Thus, I think it's time that we as a community decide to raise our standards. I'm talking across the board. I'm talking in restaurants, business, individually, attitude, servitude, cleanliness, general vibes and so much more!
We reside in The PEAKe of Excellence, so what exactly does that mean? That means we hold ourselves to a much higher standard than all the rest. We are our only competition. If we can be better today than ourselves of yesterday, we're doing great!
So I want to challenge you, yes you, my dear, dear ChesaPEAKeian, to raise your own standards for yourself. Whatever level you have been operating on up until this point, I need you to raise the bar. You are better than that. Point blank period! I know you are capable of so much more so I am going to push you all to up the stakes. Get a little more out of your comfort zone. Stretch yourself more. Do a little more than you did yesterday, expect more of yourself. Try and fail and try again and fail again and try again and fail again and try, try, try again until something works.
What y'all might not know about me is that I been on that personal development kick for over a year now and it's starting to bubble over so I'm ready to kick us into shape (literally, I'm gonna need to work out to operate as a normal human would going up the steps).
I want Chesapeake to be the blueprint. We set the standard that others aspire to follow. It starts with us individually and ends with the collective moving forward and upward towards being a better city each and every single day.
Work on yourself and help others improve by being honest. If the service you experience is not top notch, and especially if it's bad, tell them in a direct, but not mean, manner. Start giving genuine constructive criticism so we have an opportunity to improve. If you don't say something, we'll never know what we're doing wrong!
Imma keep this brief, but I'm really passionate about this mission in the City of Chesapeake. I believe in this city and its citizens and as such we should all believe in each other and the Excellence this city has stored within.
I should be able to recommend any restaurant or business or park or place or person to anyone who is visiting and rest assured know that they will have a great time and the ChesaPEAKeians will give them a warm welcome.
Remember to always speak life over our city and discourage others from their negativity. Even jokes that focus on mocking our deficiencies are crossing the line and should be reprimanded and replaced with something positive or constructive.
No longer will we be complainers. Now, we are problem solvers. We do not need to wait for anyone to rescue us, for we have been given the power of creativity and have been created to be unique so with the vast number of ChesaPEAKeians out there, there's no problem we cannot solve together!
I challenge you to work a little harder this week, be a little nicer, laugh a little more, care a little more, spread joy to others more. We have raised our standards and soon the world will look in on us and wonder how we grew so fast as a loving community, as a genuine community, as a wealthy community, as a fun community, as a healthy community, and as a closer community.
