As I started Croatia Underrated at the beginning of this year, I had big plans and small expectations. Small expectations, because I didn't really know whether I would make a good host but I wanted to try this medium. There are several possible barriers - the most obvious one being that English is not my mother tongue. Also, I don't think it's possible not to be yourself as a podcaster. That's the reason why I've always loved radio, if the host suits you, it will be easier to like the show.
Big plans compared to the fact that I didn't fully understand the commitment required. I guess that happens to a lot of people if you know that a considerable proportion of podcasts ends with their first episode. In fact, almost half of podcasts don't ever pass their 10th episode.
After some initial bumps on the road of consistency, I was so thrilled to spot the round number on my podcast hosting page! Yay, I published 20 episodes! And although it's not as much as I originally promised (I changed the big plans into more achievable ones), if this continues, dozens of Croatian underrated destinations and traditions will be presented through this podcast. That's something to look forward to and it raises the expectations, too!
