Hello from Studio Karhu in Helsinki where Inka and I record the podcast Can I Finnish?

My name is Travis, I'm a radio & podcast producer originally from the UK where I worked for radio stations like Radio X and KISS. I moved with my fiancé to her home country of Finland at the end of 2022. That New Years Eve I met Inka, we chatted about comedy and I realised she was HILARIOUS and due to me not having any full time work since moving to Finland, I thought we should do something creative together.
I pitched the format for Can I Finnish? from that moment we were in this together, we developed the show together and realised we have something very cool on our hands. I shopped the project around to many Finnish Podcast/audio companies and we got some great feedback but none of the companies were willing to fund something new and in english in Finland.
So we decided let's do everything DIY, with no budget to speak of we built the show using my podcast equipment, we were lucky to have very kind friends such as Petra who designed our brilliant show artwork and we pumped hours into research, prep and building a social media strategy.
I have a couple of paying gigs in Finland but nothing regular, Inka is writing a book, doing stand up and about 4 other jobs including being a teacher, so we're stretched in terms of people power and funds, that is where this page comes in.
