Sometimes, I catch myself missing this or missing that,
A fleeting thought, a moment where I feel so flat.
But then I pause and softly ask, “Why?”
What is it about this memory that makes my spirit sigh?

Do I yearn for a time I falsely recall,
A perfect moment that wasn’t real at all?
In truth, I let the hours slip away back then,
So why now dwell on what could have been?

Instead, let this longing be a gentle guide,
A call to embrace the present with arms open wide.
For time once lost can’t be regained,
But today holds magic, unrestrained.

Make the whimsical moments you ache for real,
Shape the now into something you can truly feel.
For life’s greatest gift isn’t the past—it’s today,
A chance to create, to live, to play.

Remember, we only have today. Make it the best & dare not allow yourself to dwell on what was or what could have been.
