Make Space for The Nudges 💜

Make Space for The Nudges 💜

Dec 30, 2024

Good morning, my friends. If you’re reading all the way through, thank you so much—I know your time is precious. If you don’t make it to the end, no worries; I love you still. 💜

We’ve been talking about creating pockets of silence in our lives—first realizing why silence is so important and then figuring out how to carve it out of our day-to-day chaos. Now, you might be wondering, what’s the next step after I finally manage that little moment of quiet?

Here’s a suggestion: make space for whatever comes up in that silence.

Sounds simple, right? But it can be surprisingly hard because, let’s be honest, sometimes the insights that bubble up when we’re quiet aren’t all rainbows and butterflies. Maybe you realize you’ve been neglecting something important, or your gut starts nudging you toward a change you’ve been avoiding. That’s okay—that’s actually part of the process. When we dare to be quiet, we might hear things we’ve been too busy to notice before.

So how do we handle it?

  1. Jot it Down: Grab a journal, a notes app, or even a spare napkin. As soon as you finish your mini-silence session, write (or doodle!) whatever popped into your head. No need to craft perfect sentences—just capture those raw thoughts.

  2. Check Your Body: Yes, your body. Sometimes you’ll notice tension in your shoulders or that your gut is twisted in knots. Pay attention. Our bodies often clue us in on what’s going on beneath the surface, even before our minds do.

  3. Be Kind to Yourself: It’s super easy to judge or criticize ourselves in these moments. Try to treat whatever you discover with compassion. Think of yourself as your own best friend—what would you say to comfort and encourage that friend?

  4. Follow the Breadcrumbs: If you feel a gentle tug to explore a new path—maybe it’s a creative passion, a career shift, or a relationship you want to heal—don’t ignore it. You don’t have to take a giant leap today, but take a baby step. Ask questions, do a little research, or talk it out with someone you trust.

Remember, we’re all learning to embrace this new habit of silence. It might feel awkward or uncomfortable at first, but that’s usually a sign that you’re on the brink of something meaningful. Keep practicing, keep breathing, and keep listening for that gentle nudge.

As always, if you tried any of this out, I’d love to hear about your experiences. And if life got in the way and you didn’t manage to find even a single silent moment—guess what? It’s never too late to try again.

Sending you love and light. Thank you for hanging with me, and may you find a little more peace in the moments when the chaos quiets. ✨

I want to suggest that you grab the guided journal today from my Author Page on Amazon to help you work through this stuff this year.
