About Amy McCarty
Hi, I’m Amy—a writer, mom, sister, friend, partner, and widow who’s learning how to live, love, and laugh again after loss.
When my husband died of COVID, I didn’t just lose him—I lost the life we’d built. I lost a part of my identity. What followed was a second kind of pandemic: grief. It was messy, dark, weak, and nothing like the 'greeting card' movie version people expect.
I wrote my first book actually as a journal. I wanted my soul and my mind to remember what we survived that first year. I’m writing my second book to show how peace returns—not perfectly, but gently—when we let grace carry us forward. While writing my book on finding peace, I was laid off from my full-time writing job.
Every contribution helps me keep writing the kind of honest, hopeful stories that don’t rush grief, but walk through it with grace.
Your support allows me to:
Continue writing and editing my next book, "There is Peace for Us".
Share free reflections and resources with others navigating life after loss.
Dedicate time to building a platform that publishers find appealing.
Create content that encourages healing, humor, and honesty in the face of loss.
Sustain the emotional and creative energy it takes to tell the truth and still choose hope.
I’m pursuing traditional publishing because I believe these stories deserve a wider reach than smaller publishers can offer, and your support helps me stay the course as I write, edit, and market my current book.
Whether it’s one 'coffee' or ongoing encouragement, you’re helping me do something that matters. Thank you for believing in the work and the message behind it.
