Hi! I’m Vila, a self-taught artist based in the Czech Republic.
I live and breathe watercolour.
I’m fascinated by the beauty and mystery of the human face and I’m drawn to indefinable expressions that change the longer you look. I’m fascinated by the deep penetrating gaze that guides you to the present moment.
I sculpt the face using transparent layers, paying close attention to the main face features, especially eyes, leaving other elements more abstract and only hinted/loose.
I usually combine the portrait with various natural elements, plants, trees or animals in an abstract way so they merge into one harmonious unit.
My technique leads to the unique spacious pieces that can be quite mesmerising and evoke feelings of calm and inner spaciousness.

I wish to be a full time artist cause I know I have something to offer and want to invest as much time as possible in creating unique beauty and sharing it with others.
I would like to create an e-shop for international customers and also invest in creating high quality art prints for those who can’t afford to buy an original artwork.
