À propos Founding Season| Chelsie Hollencamp
Hi, I'm Chelsie.
I'm an independent sports journalist covering the Pro Cheer League — the first professional cheerleading league in history.
I tell the stories the broadcast doesn't have time for.
The athlete who was only at two practices all season but still set a record. The 35-year-old who commutes 7 hours a week between two teams because he's not done yet. The 18-year-old who joined mid-season and pulled off the upset of the year.
These athletes are building something that's never existed before. They deserve more than game recaps.
They deserve features. Depth. Context. Stories.
What I Do
I write long-form athlete features (2,500–2,800 words) that go deep on who these founding athletes are, where they came from, and what it took to get here.
I create social media content — carousels, pull quotes, stat graphics — that helps fans connect with athletes beyond the scoreboard.
I produce broadcast-ready segments profiling athletes with compelling personal narratives.
I cover the moments that matter: the records, the upsets, the rivalries, the human stories behind the skills.
And I do it independently — no corporate filter, no league PR spin. Just journalism.
Why This Matters
The Pro Cheer League's founding season just ended.
Dallas Drive are the inaugural champions. Miami Metal pushed them to a three-point margin in the final game. Golden State Grit defied gravity all season. Atlanta Air played spoiler when no one saw it coming.
But most people don't know the athletes' names yet.
That's what I'm here to change.
Every professional sport needs storytellers. People who go beyond the highlights and ask: Who are you? What does this mean to you? What did it take to get here?
I'm doing that for professional cheerleading.

Why "Buy Me a Coffee"?
Because independent sports journalism doesn't come with a salary.
I'm building this coverage model from scratch — interviewing founding athletes, crafting features that do them justice, and creating a library of founding season stories that will matter for years.
Your support keeps this sustainable.
It means I can keep telling these stories. Keep giving these athletes the depth they deserve. Keep building a body of work that treats professional cheerleading like the legitimate sport it is.
