About Miss Dollierocker
A truly vintage internet experience, with deeply heartfelt nostalgia!
Creating a website in the style of the late 1990s-early 2000s is a labor of love (thankless, unpaid job)...but someone's got to do it! I'm trying to capture the spirit of a time before the social media doomscrolling and incessant 24/7 influencing and advertising and take us back to where the internet was, well- not so fast. It was slow, it was kinda sloppy, and it was FUN. It took time to navigate but with personal sites, regular every day people could have a whole entire platform to connect with others from all over the world in a way that was anything but sterile (glaring at you, facebook!). If you dig what this is about, perhaps you could throw me a few bucks to keep the lights on over here. I don't drink coffee so we'll pretend it's going to the fuel of the rock gods: Boy Howdy Beer ;P I don't drink beer these days, either LOL. So I promise your small contribution is directly going to this mission of making the internet groovy and fun again while the rest of the world continues to lose it's whimsy and thoughtful creativity amidst war and power struggles. My website aims to serve as an escape from it all. As a young woman navigating life with complex chronic illness, nervous system disorder and with those a smorgasbord of physical and mental disability, this site has been a personal escape from some truly difficult situations- even trauma- and I hope that it becomes a place for other fabulous folks to come together to share a few moments of zen away from the rough stuff. Let the world keep spinning out of control- on dollierocker.com everything is handmade with love. I care deeply about my community despite feeling deeply isolated so let's keep this place going and finally build a supportive place where gals like me won't constantly feel like we are slipping through the cracks. And we'll do it with STYLE! Always under construction! Thank you so much for your support <3
